Drought in Australia

My 18 year old nephew has just begun working as a jackaroo on this historic property in western NSW last month while he waits to join the Navy. I thought the overseas visitors to this blog might like to see what happens when it doesn't rain in Australia..........dust.

This property is a sheep property of 18,000 acres and was an original squatters run of about 150,000acres in 1841.

The old abandoned homestead.

The restored Cobb & Co stables and accomodation on the property.

The shearers quarters where Daniel is living and you will notice on the roof one concession to modern day life in the outback, airconditioning an essential on those very hot summer days and nights. Most days range from mid 30 to mid 40 degrees celcius and not much of a reduction over night.
