Excuse the really crap photos with and without flash, not sure how to achieve great photos of candles, will have to experiment more. Anyway the thing is my family enjoyed our candlelit evening last Saturday for the second Earth Hour event that we have decided it is what we will do every evening. I have a stash of half burnt candles and a mountain of tea lights, not sure how carbon emission efficient this will be but it seems better than using electricity and the ambiance is so much better.

julian and louis thought earth hour was fantastic. they started the evening off with a camp fire down in the back yard where they toasted marshmallows and followed it with candles inside. i don't think i've ever seen them so excited! they want to do it every saturday night now which is probably a good idea.
