First quilt and a funky monkey

Isn't she the cutest sock monkey! This little series of postcards is from Darling Daughters schoolhouse sampler quilt class that she has been attending this year. There were two colour choices and she chose the pale one which is the Sanctuary range from Moda Fabrics. She only has one more class so today she chose sashing, border and binding fabrics to co-ordinate with the pretty soft florals. In the one hour class each month they receive a demonstration on the block construction for that month and they must then go home and complete the next block so they will receive the next block pack and postcard that gives construction information next lesson. She is going very well for a 12 year old, she has done all the sewing and has only asked for a bit of help with rotary cutting and some of the trickier pinning, this is her first quilt. Hopefully it won't be too long before you will see the completed quilt which will be about 48" square.
