What to do with a pure cotton Nile single bed sheet? I spotted this pretty sheet at a local thrift store downstairs in their furniture shed on a table labelled 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' and everything on it was $1. I had been seeking fabric to make myself a new cotton bathrobe very similar to the cotton Japanese kimono style one I have had for over 10 years. This old faithful robe is so cozy, it's lined with a light muslin but it is well past it's use by date. So with the KWIK SEW nightie pattern as a guide I embarked on cutting out a new robe, I lined it with fine white cotton voile, added some feminine frills, a generous tie and 35cm of extra length. I am so pleased with my effort, it fits wonderfully and I wore it this morning and it's just perfect for me on these cooler mornings.

Oh you are on a Lingerie 'kick'!! Who would have thought a sheet would make such a lovely dressing gown??!!
That is lovely! I would feel so Grace Kelly all dressed up in that. :-)
It's divine! Those Nile sheets (I believe they were made by Actil) live forever. Such a pretty print, as well.
well done! looks great and $1! I had to pay at least $5 for a sheet or doona cover at my op shops!
