Too hot for knitting..........

................summer seems to have returned to us and it's perfect beach weather although one of our friends has had a little trouble with a very curious creature of the sea. My return to work has slowed my creating but every night I like to unwind with some knitting or sewing so here is the progress on my latest knit, another absolutely 'no sew' one piece garment knitted form the neck down that I mentioned a few posts back. This garment has been a very pleasant easy knit and now I'm onto the sleeves I'm employing a new technique to me, 'magic loop knitting' as I didn't have a set of double point needles the right size to work the sleeves but I do have a nice long circular needle that I worked the body on. Here is a link to the video I used to learn this very clever technique that makes knitting the sleeves so simple. Won't be long and this cardigan will be finished and I've already found 3 large matte black buttons to close it with, ignore the clothes peg in the photos. If you click on the photos you will see much more detail and also the occasional white angora fibre that pop up throughout this wonderfully soft and warm yarn. The cardigan is hanging on an almost antique coat hanger which was once my mothers when she was at boarding school in the early 1950's, it has her initial and maiden name scribed on it in her writing, I also have a couple that have my grandmothers script writing on them, lovely family treasures of the past.

Oh I like that. It does seem impossible that it will ever be cold enough to wear it. I will regret saying that when I am whining about the cold no doubt.

I'll be starting that same sweater very soon. A friend and I are going to do a two-person knit-along. She's in California and I'm in Florida --- coast to coast knitting. LOL

You need to check the link for the shark encounter. It has an extra http in it.

it's just beautiful.
it makes me wish (desperately) that I could knit (properly). If you decide you just don't want to wear it, I'm more than happy for you to send it to me ;)
I'm sorry you don't get as much time to craft - I think I'm at that stage you've just moved from - where the kids go to school and I do a bit of work but have time at home too. Alas, I know this will just be a phase too......I guess I should enjoy it while I can :)

I've heard of magic loop knitting, but never tried it!
